LDK has undertaken projects focusing on the integration of marginalised social groups in society - as well as into the labour market. Such assignments have addressed the development of social inclusion policies for the integration of disadvantaged groups, and the provision of assistance to institutions in designing and implementing projects promoting tolerance among marginalised social groups and cultural diversity. Children have been the particular focus of certain projects addressing the elimination of segregation in schools.
Thus, LDK has experience in the development and implementation of specially designed activities targeting governmental institutions and other professional groups whose work impacts weaker social groups, as well as socially marginalised groups directly, including local Roma populations.
In each case, national particularities are taken into account, and emphasis is placed on carefully adapting theoretical approaches and best practices to the specific local environment, the actual needs of the target groups, and the resources available. Moreover, in addressing issues of social inclusion, LDK has gained expertise in the promotion of cooperation between government and civil society, aiming at enhancing the role of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and NGOs in participating in social dialogue and policy formulation.
Thus, within the framework of this project, LDK Consultants brings extensive knowledge of:
- Integration issues facing marginalised social groups regarding their inclusion in society and the labour market;
- The role of social services and EU best practices in the promotion of equal rights;
- Institutional capacity building for public sector authorities and professional organisations to improve the design and delivery of social inclusion policies;
- Organisation of public consultations as a tool for citizen participation in the policy-making process;
- The design and implementation of active labour market measures; provision of TA to central government bodies responsible for the development and implementation of employment policy;
- Training needs analysis and the creation of tailored training for public authorities whose work impacts socially marginalised groups;
- The design and delivery of national-level awareness-raising campaigns highlighting human rights, equal opportunities, the right to education and employment, and the fight against social exclusion.
