- organisation of EU study-tour for Chinese decision makers;
- EU-China conference on best practice RE technologies;
- identification of renewable energy projects suitable for CDM implementation;
- training for provincial and local administrations on CDM project design;
- creation of EU private sector inventory;
- CDM project promotion conference organisation.
Description
The overall project objectives summarise as follows. The project aims:
- to identify barriers to the renewable energy development in China in line with CDM and to formulate strategy to remove them;
- to identify renewable energy project opportunities under the CDM scheme;
- to evaluate carbon reduction benefits, as well as other local and regional development benefits from renewable energy projects;
- to enhance the transfer of renewable energy technology and know-how between the EU member states and China;
- to improve the regulatory, normative and administrative framework conditions for renewable energy use through transfer of experience on energy policy issues;
- to access more accurate and timely data about possible renewable energy project options for policy makers and investors;
- to increase awareness among EU investors and to promote private investment in renewable energy in China under the support of CDM;
- to assist China in capacity building on CDM related issues, e.g. baselines, verification, auditing, certification, monitoring, costs and risk;
- to assist China in CDM project design and project proposal;
- to analyse opportunities for small-scale renewable energy projects and associated fast-tracking procedures.
