Description
This Project has been carried out within the framework of the Phare Programme. The objective of the project was to identify the energy saving potential in the health sector of Romania, to identify realistic options for financing energy conservation projects in the sector, and based on these to develop a proposed Energy Conservation Strategy for the health sector of Romania.
The Project comprised the following main activities:
- Execution of energy audit sessions in four pre-selected hospitals in Romania and identification of energy conservation potential and energy saving projects categorised as no/low, medium and high cost investment,
- Development of realistic investment proposals for the most promising medium & high cost energy conservation projects at the four hospitals
- Development of a set of proposals for the implementation of a long term Energy Conservation Strategy for the health sector of Romania
- Implementation of the most promising no/low cost projects in the four hospitals
- Monitoring of the energy consumption of the four hospitals after the installations and evaluation of the results
- Training of the administrative and Technical staff of the four selected hospital
- Dissemination of the results of the project, on the energy saving potential, and on the energy project financing option in Romania
