LDK provided following services for each sewerage board:
- evaluation of accidental releases;
- risks associated with releases;
- process of hazard analysis;
- pollutant of dispersion analysis;
- quantitative risk analysis;
- uncertainty analysis.
Description
The study included the provision of technical assistance for the emergency disposal of recycled water from the wastewater treatment plants in Limassol, Paphos, Larnaca and Paralimnio - Agia Napa. In particular, following tasks were addressed:
- Composition of a risk assessment report for the emergency disposal and elaboration of EIA for the absence of infrastructure works;
- Elaboration of alternative risk management scenarios and EIA for the construction and operation of the works, as well as comparative assessment of scenarios;
- cost estimation of construction works and time schedule of realisation.
Particular data on the respective sewerage boards of the Cypriot municipalities and areas have as follows:
- Paphos: 340,000 equivalent population (ep) - 5,442 c.m./day;
- Limassol & Amathountas: 70,000 ep - 22,000 c.m./day;
- Larnaca: 44,340 ep - 8,500 c.m./day
- Paralimni - Agia Napa: 50,000 ep - 12,000 c.m./day.
