Description

The main task of the project was the provision of technical assistance for the preparation of the Terms of Reference for the "Pilot Project for Water Quality Control", as well as the preparation of technical specifications for water quality and quantity monitoring. The specific objectives of the project were the following:
(a) Development of the technical assistance project in order to establish water quality management systems in Bosnia: The consultant, in cooperation with the beneficiaries, analysed institutional, technical, environmental, financial and economic aspects of a project, having taken into account the current condition of the water sector in the country. As a result, Terms of Reference were prepared for deployment of EC technical assistance under the CARDS 2003 programme for implementation of the "Water Quality Management on the River Basin Level" in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
(b) Development of comprehensive concept for water monitoring network and laboratories in close cooperation with the beneficiaries and the ICPDR Secretariat: The Technical Specifications ready for procurement of supplies for water quality and quantity monitoring were prepared for deployment of EC supply contractor under the CARDS 2003 programme for implementation of the "Water Quality Management on the River Basin Level" in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project supported the EC Delegation, and in particular the Task Manager, in the preparation of the EC water sector programme under the CARDS 2003 programme.
(c) Review/Preparation of the technical specifications;
(d) Participation to the evaluation.
