Description
The project was an innovative environmental education programme for Local Public Administration employees working in Regional Administrations, Prefectures and Municipalities. The project focused on three important environmental issues, namely:
- management of municipal and industrial wastes;
- preparation and evaluation of Environmental Impact Assessment studies (EIA);
- operation and monitoring of wastewater treatment plants according to the EU 271/91 Directive.
The educational programme was based on innovative methods of training consisting of interactive, multimedia software systems, (CBT - Computer Based Training) manuals tailored to each trainee's professional needs, formal lectures and practical training. The combination of these methods aimed to increase the assimilative capabilities of the trainees, reduce training costs and time and create a continuous education tool.
