Description
The project referred to the Environmental Compliance Programme (Costea 6-PHARE-RO-PAO/CFCU), consisting of a series of environmental compliance audits (PHARE programme 2000-2001) at three industrial facilities in Romania, the chemical complex of SC NITRAMONIA SA, the steelworks SC SIDERURGICA SA and, the chemical complex of SC IUG SA. All three projects aimed to establish Environmental Compliance Programmes for the industrial units and included sampling and evaluation of pollution from the facilities, environmental risk assessment, identification of existing and potential environmental problems and definition of necessary remediation measures and investments required for compliance with EU environmental standards, including cost estimates.
