Description
The aim of this project was to investigate all possible environmental impacts from the proposed activities (construction and operation) and propose appropriate mitigation measures in full compliance with relevant Greek and EU legislation.
Key issues addressed during the project were the following:
- assessment of local environmental conditions (both physical and anthropogenic);
- description of the project;
- identification of environmental impacts during construction and operation of the project, including impacts to the soil, impacts to surface and ground water, impacts to the atmosphere, noise impacts, impacts to the ecosystems, as well as socio-economic, aesthetic and cultural impacts;
- identification of specific mitigation measures to address environmental impacts.
