Type of Services

The consultancy services to be provided are the following:

  • PHASE 1 (Proposal): Preparation of the technical offer for the inclusion of the project in the aforementioned business investment programme, which includes:
  • Energy auditing of the two buildings with the use of metering instrumentation.
  • Determination of the appropriate EE technical solutions / Preliminary energy simulation to estimate energy consumption & EE goal-setting
  • Estimation of energy consumption parameters for the baseline scenario (current situation) and after the EE/RES measures implementation scenario / Energy modeling using the Greek Energy regulations approved software (Monthly analysis)
  • Detailed estimation of energy consumption parameters (referring to building shell, equipment and utilities, uses of building areas, time-schedules etc.) for the baseline scenario (current situation) and after the implementation of EE/RES measures scenario / Detailed Energy modeling and Simulation Analysis for the museum’s building complex before and after the planned EE & RE interventions using specialized building energy analysis software (Hourly analysis)
  • Drafting of technical report presenting simulation results and proposed EE & RES measures according to the investment programme’s requirements / Drafting of investment budget using market information and collection of the necessary legal paperwork.
  • PHASE 2 (Project Management / supervision): following the inclusion of the project in the business investment programme, the consultant will provide the following services:
  • Consultancy services regarding the EE & RES subproject expenditures / Eligibility and payment of expenditures by the programme’s funding
  • Progress reporting and communications with the programme’s committee / Subprojects modifications / progress checking requests / Monitoring and overall technical consulting for the effective implementation of the investment project
  • Project supervision for verifying the proper implementation of subprojects by the subcontractors; compliance with required licenses and security protocols
  • Technical supervision and quality control of the EE & RES subprojects’ implementation

Description

The main objective of this assignment is to provide technical assistance to the Goulandris Natural History Museum for Energy Efficiency and RES interventions regarding its two buildings located in Kifissia, Greece, with the goal to minimize the total energy consumption and incorporate RETs for on-site electricity generation and consumption.

The two buildings are within the same plot and are:

-    the Natural History Museum (~1,940 sq. m)
-    the Centre for Environmental Research and Education “GAIA” (~5,050 sq. m).

The project’s funding will be provided by the business investment programme “Environment and Sustainable Development 2007-2013 - Energy intelligent thematic museums of near-zero energy consumption”, which is implemented under the Greece-EU programme for development “National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) 2007-2013”.
