LDK Consultants participated in a team of designers and consultants who won the prestigious international Engineering News Record (ENR) Award of Merit for 2020 for the ‘’Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens’’ Project, in the category of Housing Projects, in the context of the Global Best Project Awards organized every year by the leading American ENR magazine.

This was indeed one of the highest distinctions in the world in the field of construction, as the list of candidates included a diverse mix of 30 projects from 21 countries of six continents.

The ‘’Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens’’ Project and its contributors were honoured during an online ceremony which took place on Thursday the 17th of September 2020.

LDK Consultants assisted the developers from their early stages of engagement in the environmental and sustainability aspects until the issuance of the pertinent Presidential Decree, whereas it also delivered the environmental impact assessment (EIA) of the renovation and conversion of the emblematic "Astir Vouliagmeni" into the first "Four Seasons" Hotel complex in Greece, with a view to ensure the sustainable development of the pine-covered peninsula of the Lemos area of Vouliagmeni, in the heart of the Athenian Riviera.  LDK’s cutting-edge MEP design services incorporated green technologies and energy conservation such as solar water heating, gray water utilization, energy conservation, heat recovery air handling units, inverter-controlled pumps and fans, building energy management system, LED lighting and lighting control systems, etc.
 
The complex of 75 acres comprises two hotels ‘’Arion’’ and ‘’Nafsika’’, a development with a total of 303 rooms and 58 luxury bungalows and the ‘’Astir’’ beach, whereas the old hotel “Aphrodite” is planned to be replaced by a number of privately owned luxurious touristic residences.

LDK Consultants was the MEP Engineer and worked hand-in-hand with the Owners, the Project Manager (Hill International) and the wider Design Team to deliver this iconic Project.
