Description

The project aimed at the assessment of the current status of health, safety and environment performance, regarding the approximately 60 retail service stations, the import/trucking fuel terminal, the LPG terminal and the approximately 100 reseller or commercial/industrial customer sites of BP Company in Cyprus. It consisted of a Phase I type Environmental Site Assessment carried out to samples of the above-mentioned sites, which included on site inspection and interview with the persons in charge, in order to (a) collect site-specific information/site history, so as to determine any potential environmental incidents, (b) assess the environmental risks posed by the presence of the sites, (c) gather data on the overall environmental and safety performance, (d) identify areas of good environmental and safety management practices and (e) identify construction methods and building structures in place for the protection of the environment.
