IFC's Sustainable Energy Facility: Midterm Evaluation, Brazil, Nicaragua & Honduras

Type of Services

Provided services included field visits to Latin America (Honduras, Nicaragua and Brazil) to gather information for case studies on 3 SMEs, which are still active borrowers. The projects that have been elaborated consisted of a hydro plant, a PV manufacturing installation and a solar hot water heaters production plant. The delivered case studies included description of results, assessment of the project's impacts and determination of replicability and sustainability characteristics.

Description

Scope of the project is to conduct a midterm review of the Sustainable Energy Facility (SEF) of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), which is one of the several GEF funded initiatives that have sought to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by promoting renewable energy and energy efficiency SME businesses. The evaluation was performed through desk review, interviews with the company managing the facility and field visits to formulate case studies from projects in Latin America and Central Asia.
