Energy is undoubtedly the main factor in climate change; it is indicative that in Europe, energy accounts for some 80% of the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions released. Boosting investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy, are amongst the priorities set by the recent Energy Policy for Europe.
In collaboration with our Energy Department we provide a complete set of consulting services to investors interested in the establishment of renewable energy facilities.
We also work together to improve energy efficiency and achieve savings through energy audits, which could be part of a full environmental audit for facilities in operation.
CO2 Emissions Trading is a tool created to assist GHG emission reduction and is of particular interest to the energy sector, as well as to the energy intensive industry. LDK has worked in the project “Supportive actions for establishing in Greece a scheme for greenhouse gas emission allowance trading and monitoring mechanism for evaluating the progress towards meeting commitments in respect of these emissions”.
LDK’s key areas of expertise include:
- Emissions Trading – National Allocation Plans, establishment of National Registry of allowances, Monitoring Mechanism.
- Environmental Impact Assessment for energy production projects
- Environmental Permitting for energy production projects
- Environmental and Energy Audits
