Type of Services

Specific activities performed in the course of the EIA preparation, which was LDKs assignment in this project, were:

  • Conduct site visits of the area, meetings with the Beneficiaries and Competent Authorities, and thorough data collection of the characteristics of the area to establish the baseline environment,
  • Early identification of sensitive aspects related with the special protection status of the area, under Natura 2000 European Network,
  • Evaluation of alternative routings for the main collectors, and citation of the Pumping Stations to minimise possible negative impacts of the project on the area,
  • Recommendation of special mitigation measures to eliminate or minimise any impacts during the construction phase of the project;
  • Development of a full-fledged EIA report, in line with EU and National legislative requirements'
  • Special Ecological Study
  • Support the Contracting Authority (Project Owner) in consultation meetings with the Competent and Advising Authorities involved (more than 10) in the environmental permitting process.

Description

The project aimed to prepare all necessary studies and documents, from design to tendering, for the construction of the sewers within the three municipalities of Fanari, Arogi and Paralia Mesis, as well as the main collectors and Pumping Stations for collecting and conveying and/or pumping the wastewater produced to the WWTP planned to be constructed and serve all the three.

The main studies elaborated as part of the project are:

a) Hydraulic design of the networks

b) Electromechanical study of pumping stations

c) Topographic survey of the area to be served and of the routings of the pipelines.

d) Geotechnical survey

e) Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Study - LDKs Task.
