- design of the safety system draft plan;
- description of the proposed installation – elimination of contingent accidents with accumulative impact (domino effect);
- description of dangerous substances and activities;
- identification and analysis of accidental risks – development of scenarios;
- EIA from contingent accidents due to fire or oil spill in the sea – use of appropriate computational models (software);
- prevention and control of large-scale accidents: Protection measures and emergency plan in case of an accident, etc.
Description
The project responded to the requirements of the SEVESO II Directive and produced a detailed integrated safety report for the oil storage facility of SUNOIL company, situated in Drossia Chalkidas area, north of Athens, Greece. Following site investigation and hazards identification, risk analysis (quantitative and qualitative) was carried out in accordance with the EU Directive 96/82. Appropriate measures were put forward in order to be incorporated in the site\'s Safety Management System.
